Description

Experience the incredible contrasts of Kenya on a seven-day luxury safari designed around wildlife, dramatic scenery, and authentic African experiences. From the lively atmosphere of Nairobi, journey into the country's remarkable wilderness and discover landscapes that change dramatically from one destination to the next.

Your adventure takes you to Amboseli National Park, where vast plains, wildlife-filled wetlands and towering views of Mount Kilimanjaro create an unforgettable safari setting. The park is particularly renowned for its elephants, while its open landscapes offer excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

Continue to Laikipia, a region where wildlife conservation, local communities and tourism come together across expansive private conservancies. Away from the busier safari routes, Laikipia offers a more intimate wilderness experience, with opportunities to encounter diverse wildlife while discovering a different side of Kenya's natural heritage.

The journey culminates in the legendary Maasai Mara, one of Africa's most celebrated safari destinations. Its sweeping grasslands support an extraordinary variety of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras and wildebeest. The Mara is also part of the greater ecosystem crossed by the Great Migration, offering spectacular wildlife experiences that vary with the seasons.

Throughout the journey, you'll travel with experienced local guides who bring the landscapes and wildlife to life, helping you make the most of every game drive and destination. From sunrise over the savannah to encounters with Kenya's iconic wildlife, this safari is designed to give you a deeper connection with the country's wild places.

Day 1: Nairobi

Your Kenyan adventure begins in Nairobi, the country's vibrant capital and a convenient gateway to some of its most spectacular wilderness areas.

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, the remainder of the day can be spent relaxing after your journey or exploring some of Nairobi's attractions.

If time allows, you may visit one of the city's wildlife and conservation attractions, discover local culture, or simply enjoy a relaxed evening before beginning your safari.

Nairobi offers a fascinating contrast between modern city life and the natural wilderness that surrounds it, making it an ideal introduction to Kenya.

Day 2: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, leave Nairobi and travel south towards Amboseli National Park.

As you approach the park, the landscape changes from the urban environment of Nairobi to open plains and striking views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is particularly famous for its large elephant herds, which can often be seen moving across the plains with Africa's highest mountain providing a dramatic backdrop.

After arriving and settling in, embark on your first game drive.

Explore the park's diverse habitats, including open grasslands and seasonal wetlands, while keeping an eye out for elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and numerous bird species.

As the afternoon progresses, the changing light creates excellent conditions for photography before you return for the evening.

Day 3: Amboseli National Park to Laikipia National Park

Begin the morning with an early wildlife experience in Amboseli.

The cooler hours of the morning are an excellent time to explore the park, when many animals are active and the atmosphere is particularly peaceful. You may encounter elephants heading towards feeding areas, predators returning from their nightly activities, and large herds of plains game beginning their day.

After your morning adventure, continue your journey north towards Laikipia.

The journey introduces a completely different side of Kenya, with changing scenery ranging from open countryside to rugged landscapes and wildlife conservancies.

Upon arrival in Laikipia, settle into your surroundings and enjoy the opportunity to experience the area's unique wilderness environment.

Day 4: Laikipia Conservancy

Today is dedicated to exploring the remarkable Laikipia region.

Unlike the traditional national-park experience, Laikipia is home to a network of conservancies where wildlife conservation works alongside community initiatives and sustainable tourism.

Spend the day exploring the conservancy with your experienced guide. Depending on the location and activities available, your experience may include game drives, guided nature walks and cultural encounters.

Laikipia supports an impressive variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras and numerous plains species. The region is also recognized for its conservation work and efforts to protect important habitats.

The slower pace and varied activities make this a chance to experience Kenya beyond the conventional safari route.

Day 5: Laikipia - Masai Mara Game Reserve

After your Laikipia experience, continue towards the Maasai Mara, one of Kenya's most famous wildlife destinations.

The journey takes you towards the southwestern part of the country, where the landscape gradually opens into the vast grasslands of the Mara ecosystem.

Upon arrival, settle into your camp before heading out on an afternoon game drive.

The Mara's open terrain makes wildlife viewing particularly rewarding. Look out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and antelope, as well as predators such as lions and cheetahs.

As evening approaches, enjoy the changing colours across the savannah before returning from your first Mara adventure.

Day 6 : Masai Mara Game Reserve

Set out early for a full-day safari with your guide, travelling through different areas of the reserve in search of wildlife. The early morning can be especially rewarding, as the cooler temperatures encourage many animals to remain active.

The Mara is home to an exceptional variety of wildlife. Depending on the day's sightings, you may encounter prides of lions, cheetahs hunting across the plains, elephants moving between feeding areas, herds of zebra and wildebeest, and many species of antelope.

Take time during the day to appreciate the scenery as well as the wildlife. The Mara's wide horizons, rolling grasslands and scattered acacia trees create some of Kenya's most recognizable safari landscapes.

During the Great Migration season, the reserve may also host large concentrations of wildebeest and zebra moving through the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. The timing and location of the herds vary naturally, so sightings cannot be guaranteed.

Return to camp in the evening after a full day immersed in the wilderness.

Day 7: Final Masai Mara Game Drive & Departure

Rise early for your final game drive in the Maasai Mara.

This last safari provides one more opportunity to explore the plains and encounter wildlife before leaving the reserve. Early morning is often a peaceful time in the Mara, with soft light across the grasslands and animals beginning their daily routines.

After the game drive, begin your journey back towards Nairobi.

Depending on your onward travel arrangements, you may have time to relax or freshen up before your airport transfer.

Your seven-day safari concludes with memories of Kenya's diverse landscapes, from the magnificent backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro and the conservation landscapes of Laikipia to the wildlife-rich plains of the Maasai Mara.
